If you have suffered the loss of a loved one you will be acutely aware of just how painful it can be. Grief, although temporary, can feel like a debilitating emotion and the sense of loneliness can seem all-pervading.

Bereavement itself is the period of mourning and grief after a death. When you are greiving, it is simply the normal part of the process in reacting to an intense loss.

You may experience a number of reactions, i.e mental, physical, social or emotional responses which can include:

  • Anger
  • Guilt
  • Anxiety
  • General sadness
  • Despair
  • Lonliness

Alongside the possible psychological effects of bereavement/grief, many people can experience physical reactions also. Which can include

  •       Anger
  •       Sleeping problems
  •       Loss of appetite
  •       Excessive Crying

The duration of bereavement may depend on how close you were to the person who passed away, if their death was expected and other possible factors. Friends and family may at this time be a valuable source of support but I can help you overcome your grief and put you back in control of your life and the experiences in it.
