A personal matter…

Delicate or private issues can be more challenging for people to seek help for and discuss but are remarkably common in both women and men. At my clinics in Rickmansworth, Aylesbury, Oxford  and St. Albans you can rest assured that sexual problems are regularly treated and help is always delivered in a sensitive and professional manner.

Common symptoms encountered include:

Anorgasmia: When women fail to reach orgasm, even if they find sex enjoyable, it is known as Anorgasmia – the failure to reach orgasm or climax.

Frigidity: Technically known as Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder. Loss of sex drive, lack of interest in sex or low libido can cause frustration and problems within a relationship. One partner avoids sexual intercourse, avoids sexual thoughts or has no desire for sex.

Impotence: Also known as Male Erectile Disorder or Erectile dysfunction, this is the condition which causes men to have difficulty in getting an erection, or cannot maintain an erection during sex. This can lead to feelings of frustration, being a failure, feelings of inadequacy, of rejection and feeling ‘on the spot’.

Premature Ejaculation: Premature ejaculation is also known as rapid ejaculation, rapid climax, premature climax, early ejaculation or simply, coming too soon. Premature ejaculation (PE) is the most common sexual dysfunction in men younger than 40 years old. Premature ejaculation is the persistent experience of ejaculating too quickly with very little sexual stimulation.

Vaginismus: Vaginismus/Vaginism is a sexual problem affecting women where sex is painful or impossible due to involuntary muscular contractions. Sufferers also experience difficulty inserting tampons or undergoing a gynecological examination.

Help for sexual problems

ThriveProgramme Logo New RGB LargeIf you would like to be completely in control of your thoughts and feelings in sexual situations then I can help. Working together, we would improve your self esteem and change the beliefs you hold about yourself in these situations. As an example, erectile dysfunction is essentially caused by the belief and expectancy that the problem will reoccur, which is enough to make it happen.

The Thrive Programme is a revolutionary and hugely successful training programme that helps you to understand that your beliefs, personality and styles of thinking are causing the problem. Generally, from the clients I have treated, most sexual problems are caused by such factors as self esteem issues, social anxiety and feeling on the spot (performance anxiety) in the bedroom. A large factor is simply expecting the experience to be a disappointment or unsuccessful can prove to be a self fulfilling prophecy. Often, issues within the dynamics of a relationship can overflow into the bedroom, where further problems can develop.

Fortunately, once you have the insight to understand how you may be creating the anxiety behind the problem, it can be amazingly easy to think differently and change the old patterns of behaviour and regain that control.

When you absolutely understand how your mind operates, such as the interaction between your thinking, beliefs, personality and feelings, you will feel much more empowered and in control. When you recognise that almost all of your worries, stresses, problems and symptoms are either created, maintained or worsened by poorly managed thinking, you will feel fabulously empowered……..and because YOU created these problems then YOU can change them!
